L.A. is just the place to be this weekend.

Are any of you attending the L Word convention in L.A. this weekend? I'm not sure if I'm going to make it, but I might see you out and about. Kate, Leisha and Erin are all scheduled to appear. Be sure to tell me your stories when you get back from it!

Also don't forget that Leisha Hailey's band UH HUH HER will be playing at the Knitting Factory Friday night.

The Donnas are playing at the Roxy on Saturday night.

My bday & Killola's last L.A. show of the year are happening at Safari Sam's on Sunday night.

And Tegan & Sara will be downtown Monday night.

This city's not so bad sometimes. :-)

My Los Angeles Birthday Plans!

If you are in or near l.a. and want to come check out some awesome live music, have some righteous nachos and join me for my casual birthday celebration, I'd love to see you:-)

(Killola: milk does a body good.)

The shindig/show is at Safari Sam's in Hollywood this Sunday, Oct. 28th. my buddies in the band Killola, (whose lead singer Lisa is the star of the lezzy web series Girltrash) are playing.

I chose this location because its one of the few places in l.a. that doesn't have attitude...and they'll actually let me in to my own party no matter what I'm wearing:-)

I'll be there starting at 8pm and will stick around for a few hours...there's a full dinner menu...its a casual place like a rocker bar thingy. Its ALL-AGES. Give the bar a call if you need more info.

If you're planning on going, please send me a message so I can look for you:-)

I'll show you my 'preciation tonight...

This is my favorite jam right now. Can't wait to cop that shit when it hits the streets in 2001;-)

Yes, that is Killola's Lisa who you might recognize from the GIRLTRASH! series. Those Killola kids are cuh-raz-ee. Gotta love it.

Come to my crib...tonight.

Some nights are gayer than others...

I've lived in L.A. for about 2 and a half months now. As I mentioned in a post a few days ago, sometimes this city really gets to me.

But last night (at the Killola show) I had a great time cause it was chock full of some *real* folks. Like most nights in L.A., it was also chock full of some quite random (but awesome!) meetings. I somehow managed to meet the following people, all within a 4 hour period:

(In order of appearance)

David Moscow -
you know, the dude from "Newsies" and a bunch of other movies, including this one...

...before I introduced myself, I held him tight in my embrace. He smelled of peppermint and my childhood memories. You had me at "hello" David Moscow. You had me at "hello."

Joel Michaely -
The dude's been in like 20 films, but "But I'm a Cheerleader" is my favorite. He played Joel, the sensitive Jewish wanna-be-ex gay. Way to pimp those Killola cds my friend. :-)

Riki Lindhome -
She's just so good in everything she's in, from "Million Dollar Baby" to "Gilmore Girls" and everything in between. I'm really looking forward to seeing more!

Michelle Lombardo -
Super down to earth chick. She's on "Entourage" and in commercials, has been featured in Sports Illustrated and is doing films now...and she still keeps it *real* Don't ever let em change you, Michelle:-)

& Lisa Rieffel -
The lady of the night...lead singer for Killola and rock star goddess. So much energy on stage...crazy vocal skills...and a genuinely nice chick. Can't beat that with a stick. No seriously, I tried.

All three ladies can be seen in this clip from GIRLTRASH:

All the guys in the band who rock my world...Dan, Jonny, and Mike + the chick from Manchester who reads my blog (wicked!) and everyone else...it was good times. Love you like a 99 cents store;-) Maybe I'll stick around this crazy town for a little while after all...

Run, Killola, Run!

If you're in the L.A. area tonight, join me while I check out the band Killola!

You might recognize the lead singer Lisa as the star of the Ourchart.com webseries GIRLTRASH! There's a rumor that lots of the actresses from GIRLTRASH! will be checking out the show tonight. So come see a wicked show, drool over some hot chicks, and high-five me while helping to find me a date for the weekend:-) The show is at Safari Sam's on Sunset at 10pm sharp. It's ALL-AGES and FREE before 9pm...$8 after 9pm. (more info on their myspace page)

Here's a video for their song "I Dont Know Who"

And here's Episode 7 of GIRLTRASH!
